Dryer sheets or wool dryer balls: which one actually works?
Dryer sheets fight static, wool balls cut drying time. Which one is worth it depends on what you wash, and towels have their own rule.

Dryer sheets
They coat fabric with a thin softener layer, which stops static on synthetics. That same layer makes towels less absorbent over time.
Wool dryer balls
They bounce between clothes, separate the layers and can cut drying time by ten to twenty percent. No coating, so they are fine for towels.
